The star of this bromeliad is its dramatic flaming sword-like flower spike in brilliant red and yellow that can last for months on end. Unlike many of its cousins, it produces this spectacular bloom right in the center of its rosette, creating a striking vertical accent that looks like a torch rising from its smooth green leaves.
