Patent and right

This variety emerged as a spontaneous branch mutation discovered in a greenhouse in Honselersdijk, The Netherlands, in March 2020. After careful selection from numerous cuttings to eliminate plants that reverted to the parent form, a stable plant showing consistent variegated foliage and improved vigor was finally chosen for commercialization under the name 'Merel'.
