This striking terrestrial bromeliad forms an impressive rosette of thick, spiky leaves that can spread up to six feet wide, creating a natural barrier in tropical gardens. Its center turns bright red before producing clusters of pink-purple flowers, followed by edible yellow fruits that taste like a mix between pineapple and citrus.
