This striking terrestrial bromeliad forms a dramatic rosette of long, arching leaves with sharp spines along their edges that can reach up to 6 feet wide. Unlike its tank-forming cousins, it grows in soil and produces clusters of bright pink flowers that emerge from its center, followed by edible yellow fruits that taste like a mix between pineapple and citrus.
