This rare Hawaiian plant sports a thick, palm-like trunk topped with a cluster of succulent leaves, earning it a distinctly prehistoric appearance. At night, it produces long, tubular white flowers that release a sweet jasmine-like fragrance, specially evolved to attract its original pollinator - a now-extinct species of hawk moth.
